Proposal to repeal LVK
The government has today published its proposal regarding the repeal of the Act (2014:275) on Certain Activities of Consumer Credit ("LVK"). The proposal entails that activities involving credit granting or credit mediation concerning consumer credits may only be conducted by companies with authorization under the Act (2004:297) on Banking and Financing Operations. The proposal is being presented despite extensive criticism from several referral bodies and the Council on Legislation. The government argues that the proposal is necessary to address the issue of over-indebtedness.
