New district in Malmö: Lindahl advises MKB in the acquisition of Jägersro
MKB Fastighets AB and Skånska Travsällskapet (STS) have reached an agreement on the acquisition of Jägersro Trav- & Galoppbana in Malmö. The underlying property value amounts to SEK 775 million.
The transaction means that Malmö will have a new district in Jägersro with approximately 3,400 new homes and a new center for horse racing. The transaction is conditional on decisions by STS's general meeting and MKB's board. Through the acquisition, MKB can secure future building rights for its own development and housing construction, but at the same time MKB also opens up for the sale of land to other commercial and private actors in order to promote a mixed and vibrant development. In addition, the deal contributes to the preservation of Malmö's historic trotting track at Jägersro, but in a new developed modern form.
Lindahl acted as legal advisor to MKB through Staffan Brandt, Josefine Engbom, Annika Brandt, Victoria Volny, Johan Myrén, Catharina Piper, Annika C. Andersson, Hanna Wackå, Jenny Eliasson, Linda Backman and Andreas Lindh.
