Lindahl acts as an advisor in MKB’s strategic acquisition and transfer of Jägersro – a new era for Malmö
Advokatfirman Lindahl acted as an advisor to MKB Fastighets AB in connection with the significant acquisition and transfer of Jägersro Trav- & Galoppbana in Malmö. The transactions are the start of a new urban district in Malmö.
MKB entered into an agreement as early as 2017 to acquire the land beside the existing racecourse in Jägersro. On Friday 31 January, MKB took possession of the area and on Tuesday 4 February it was transferred to SMT Malmö Partnering Holding AB (SMT) – a company jointly owned by Skanska, MKB and Tornet which was formed in March 2019. The value of the property amounts to 775 MSEK.
The parties will develop the area through SMT to create attractive building rights for housing, commercial activities and services. The land extends over an area of 400,000 m2 and the goal is to build 4,000 homes in the new district. The aim is to facilitate future urban development that will become a natural part of Malmö and to shape the most sustainable district in the Öresund region.
Advokatfirman Lindahl acted as an advisor to MKB Fastighets AB throughout the project. The Lindahl team consisted mainly of Staffan Brandt, Josefine Engbom, Arvid Mattsson and Linda Backman.
