Partner Karin Sliwinska Helge: "At Lindahl we go straight to the core"
Karin Sliwinska Helge is a partner at Lindahl and has worked as a bankruptcy trustee since 2015. Before that, she worked at the Swedish Enforcement Authority and sat on tribunals. "The experience of other professional roles strengthens me as a lawyer."
Karin Sliwinska Helge is one of seven partners at our Örebro office. She has worked with employment law and insolvency law at Lindahl for ten years and describes a responsive leadership and a firm where there have been working methods according to the different stages of life.
"I have been able to pursue a career while being on parental leave with two children. My family life and everyday life have never been an obstacle at Lindahl.
I really enjoy my job, and I wanted to be able to continue doing certain tasks while I was away. It may not be for everyone, but for me it was perfect, and I was able to take on tasks that worked for me at the time.
Experience from other organisations
Karin's drive has always guided her development. With her previous background from the district court and the Swedish Enforcement Authority, among others, she has a breadth and experience that allows her to guide her clients in the right direction.
"As a court clerk, you sit in court and take minutes, handle cases, sit in on hearings and learn everything about how the court works. I know what is expected, how to reason and understand the work behind the scenes. The same goes for my background at the Swedish Enforcement Authority. It helps both me and my clients.
Expert in bankruptcy administration
In her work as a bankruptcy trustee, Karin meets people going through tough situations. Bankruptcy can hit owners, staff and suppliers hard, and Karin's work includes finding solutions that can keep the business going after a business transfer. This way, suppliers can be at least partially paid and staff can keep their jobs.
I work to solve problems. Sometimes clients come to me and don't really know what they need. I help them break down the challenge, acting as their problem solver and sounding board. At Lindahl, we go straight to the core and support with legal knowledge to create business value, that's what I like about my job.
In addition to her work with clients, Karin gives lectures in her areas of law.
"It's fun to break down labour law and insolvency law and make it understandable. Then it's more about providing tools so that clients can avoid ending up in a situation where they need to hire a lawyer, or at least have a better starting point.
Karin is constantly developing and sees her future at Lindahl.
"I can't see myself anywhere else. Lindahl has always been a good workplace that has supported me. Now I want to be an equally responsive leader and support my younger colleagues, both in their professional and everyday lives."
