INTERSPORT Sweden has a new majority shareholder in Adelis Equity Partners, and INTERSPORT will now create an integrated retail chain.
INTERSPORT is the world's largest sports chain with 5.500 stores in 44 countries and it is one of the largest in Sweden. The deal means that INTERSPORT Sweden will acquire approximately 100 INTERSPORT stores, which will become wholly owned, before Adelis Investment. The other approximately 50 stores will continue as franchises.
After the restructuring, Adelis will own 70 percent of INTERSPORT, while shopkeepers will hold a 30 percent stake in the new group. The new group's pro forma turnover will amount to SEK 3 billion. The entire chain's sales amount to SEK 4 billion.
Lindahl has advised INTERSPORT in the deal. Lindahl's team consisted of Peter Högström (partner), Philip Stragne and Erik Brändt.
