Izabell Zaza has a clear goal: “I want to become a skilled lawyer”
Izabell Zaza is an associate at Lindahl with solid expertise in environmental law, human rights and sustainability. “I want to become a skilled lawyer. My career starts at Lindahl because I know this is a place where I can grow.”
What’s it like to start your legal career at a major law firm like Lindahl? What expectations, opportunities and ambitions come with it?
Izabell holds a double law degree, including a Master’s in International Human Rights Law with a specialisation in human rights. Her main areas of focus include environmental and energy law. At Lindahl, she advises companies and organisations on matters such as environmental permits and sustainability – areas that are increasingly relevant as EU legislation continues to evolve.
“Clients come to us with environmental queries when, for example, they want to expand operations or build wind farms or solar parks. Which land can they use? How can they take local environmental values into account? What compensation or responsibility measures can they take to ensure sustainable development? At Lindahl, we guide them through the process so they can be confident their business is meeting legal requirements,” Izabell explains.
Supportive colleagues and expert guidance
As the newest member of her team, Izabell sees her role as a valuable opportunity.
“I have many experienced colleagues to learn from. I wanted to be at a firm where I could really develop. Here, I’m mentored by lawyers who’ve been in the field longer and who are great at guiding me.”
She says she’s been able to grow into her role quickly, becoming involved in major cases and projects where the team shows genuine trust in her.
“At the firm, I’m encouraged and listened to – we’re aligned in both ambition and drive.”
Mastering the craft
More and more businesses are focusing on social and environmental sustainability. To operate successfully, they need to understand and keep up with shifting EU requirements. Izabell’s knowledge of environmental law, human rights and corporate governance is a real asset.
“I became a lawyer because I want to master the craft – to solve problems and have the tools to do so. I want to become really good at what I do!”
