Isak transitioned from a summer trainee to an associate: "I'm constantly evolving"
Isak Karlsson was studying law when he started as a summer trainee at Lindahl. "Studying is like learning the rules of football. Working is like actually playing football. Both parts complement each other."
Today, Isak is an associate working at Lindahl's office in Gothenburg. He began his career journey with the firm while still studying. As part of Lindahl's student pool, he became a summer trainee, worked occasionally in reception, and was an essay intern.
"I got to experience different parts of the business early on, which gave me a great insight into how things work at Lindahl. Having a mentor from here while writing my thesis was also incredibly valuable."
Isak also saw great value in working with practical law while studying.
"At school, the focus is on knowledge of regulations, whereas in work, it's on practical advice."
Into the thick of it
Before starting, Isak thought life at a law firm would involve high barriers and hierarchies between employees.
"I thought I'd be copying lots of papers and that no one would talk to me. But I was welcomed into the team straight away."
He believes there are advantages to starting work at a large firm. With many colleagues, you can learn from each other and find the direction and people you work best with.
"We have a lot of fun"
Isak is pleased with his decision to work during his studies. He has developed his expertise over time and enjoys working with the team at Lindahl, who are now his colleagues.
"I work with five experienced bankruptcy administrators and develop tremendously thanks to them. At Lindahl, we have a lot of fun together. We go to wine tastings, have after-work events, and visit museums. It's very fun and very important. If you're going to work a lot together, you need to get along."
