Lindahl commences unique cooperation with New Wave Group (publ) and Göran Härstedt
Lindahl has entered into an agreement with New Wave Group and Göran Härstedt, Torsten Jansson's associate and business partner for 12 years and Managing Director and CEO of New Wave Group until the annual general meeting earlier this year. As of 1 January, Göran Härstedt will conduct his board activities and handle commercial law and other areas of responsibility for New Wave Group as a partner at Advokatfirman Lindahl.
Göran Härstedt has been responsible for New Wave Group's legal affairs since 1998 and he is presently a member of the Board of Directors of the listed parent company (New Wave Group) and Chairman of the Board of 10 of its subsidiaries (including Orrefors Kosta Boda, New Wave Sports and New Wave Mode). Göran Härstedt will continue to be responsible for the group's legal affairs and to hold a number of board positions within the group; however now as a partner in a major law firm, with the support that entails.
"Göran is an incredibly skilled executive as well as an unbelievably good commercial lawyer; I have never seen this combination at this level in anyone else and it has meant a great deal both for me as an entrepreneur and for the growth and development of New Wave Group," says Torsten Jansson. “This cooperation will secure our continued long-term cooperation with Göran and, at the same time, both New Wave Group and Göran will have access to Lindahl’s aggregated expertise, all in order to continue to improve and streamline the handling of the Group's legal affairs and commercial transactions," continues Torsten Jansson.
"Finding a way which allows me to take advantage of, and develop, my experience and knowledge as an executive and commercial lawyer while continuing very close cooperation with New Wave Group and Torsten Jansson determined my choice of a law firm," says Göran Härstedt. "Lindahl stands for clarity, strong business sense and enormous expertise which, taken as a whole, and based on my almost 20 years’ experience as a commercial lawyer, executive and client of, essentially, all of the major Swedish law firms, makes Lindahl the obvious choice," continues Göran Härstedt. "I’m sure Lindahl will be able to make great use of my experience of working simultaneously as an executive and a lawyer, while at the same time New Wave Group and I will benefit from the industry experience and legal expertise at Lindahl," concludes Göran Härstedt.
"It is obviously very satisfying to have Göran join us. It is completely unique for a law firm to acquire a partner with experience as CEO and managing director of a large listed company. It also fits in very well with our strategy of offering legal services from lawyers with solid industry experience. Over the years Göran has acquired enormous experience, contacts and knowledge, and he is obviously extremely interesting both as an advisor to Lindahl's clients and as an internal source of knowledge," says Anders Nilsson, Managing Partner at Lindahl.
